Ingredients
2 and ¼ cup of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
2/3 cup of cocoa powder
1 and ½ cups of extra fine sugar
155 grams of softened butter
1 cup of water
3 eggs, slightly beaten
- Preparation time: 15 minutes
- Baking time: 45 minutes
Preparation
- Preheat the oven at a moderate temperature of 180 degrees C. Grease a crowned shaped ribbed mold of 24 centimeters in diameter with melted butter. Sift the flour, the baking soda and the cocoa powder in a big bowl. Add in the sugar and stir. Then add in the butter, the water, and the eggs. Use an electric mixer on low to beat all of the ingredients until they are well mixed. Then turn the electric mixer up a notch and continue mixing it for another 3 minutes.
- Use a spoon to put the mixture into the mold and smoothen out the surface with a spatula. Bake the cake for 45 minutes or until when poking a wooden pick in the center of the cake it comes out clean. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Then place the cake over a metal rack and allow it to cool. Sprinkle it with confectioner’s sugar or cover it with chocolate covering, butter and cocoa cream or chocolate sauce.
